Look Ma, no hands! (in my mouth)

Justin has sucked his thumb maybe three times in a month. For those of you who met him when he was at the orphanage you know what a big deal this is! Try finding an old picture of him without that thumb in his mouth. They are few and far between. We got pretty serious about getting him off the thumb a couple weeks after he got home. We had to. The skin around the joint kept splitting open and getting infected. Also, six of his front teeth were noticeably pulled forward. Even now the thumb is thickly calloused with a long way to go before it heals completely.

We began with a lot of prayer. Then we used something called Mavala Stop- which worked great during the day but not at night. J started wearing a glove at night and hasn't sucked his thumb since! We still pray with him every night about it, and I think we'll be able to take the glove off very soon. We are so proud of our big boy, and he's proud, too!
